Special Features of your iPod

Very few people haven't heard of the famous iPod. When most people hear the word "iPod", what comes to mind first is a small electronics item where they can store their digital photos or store their favorite songs so they can listen to them whenever they want. Those that are familiar with iPod, however, know that there is so much more to your iPod than just being a photo and music storage piece. While I wouldn't possibly have enough room to talk about the many features offered with the iPod, I want to tell you about two of the iPod's functions, which are my personal favorites: as a laser beam and flashlight and as a remote control.

If you're like most iPod owners, your iPod goes with you wherever you go. After all, where would you be without your music at all times? Your iPod also has a flashlight and laser beam device, making it very useful for traveling, camping or just when you need a little light. The laser and flashlight both can be attached to your keychain so you never have to worry about losing them. The laser beam can be seen from two kilometers away. It's your perfect choice if you want to do a little reading and don't have any available lighting or when you're outside in the dark. It's a great feature that adds to the versatility of your iPod and it's compatible with many iPod models.

Don't you get sick of having half dozen remote controls in your home? If you have an iPod, this will no longer be a problem as you can use your iPod as a remote control to control your DVD player, television, satellite radio, Xbox and many other popular electronic devices. Turning your iPod into a remote control device is very simple. All you need to do is record the sounds that your infrared remote devices send to your computer and send (transfer) them as a song file to your iPod. Once this is done, you add a unique "sound to IR converter", which reverts these sounds back to IR and you're set to go. Your iPod is now your remote control.
